Bleuの新譜、Ningで全曲先行フルストリーミング配信

E.L.Oへの愛に満ちあふれたL.E.Oなどのサイドプロジェクトでも知られるパワーポップの申し子 bleuが、7月14日に待望のニューアルバム『A Watched Pot』をリリースする。で、現在アルバムに収録される（たぶん）全曲が、彼のSNS（Ning）にて全編ストリーミング配信されている。

アルバムリリースの1ヶ月以上も前に、アルバムを全編聞けてしまうというのだから嬉しい限り。L.E.Oのときも、E.L.Oのカバーとか制限があるもの以外は全曲フルストリーミング配信していたりして、ファンを信用してくれているなぁという感じ。

とはいっても、リリース前からあんまり聞きすぎても楽しみが減ってしまう（ような気がする）ので、視聴程度にしておくけれども。まだまだ4回くらいしか通しで聞いてないから！

長い道のり

実はこの『A Watched Pot』、既に前作Redhaedに続くアルバムとして2005年にレコーディングされていたもの。ファンもずっとこのアルバムがリリースされることを待ち望んでいたのだが、Wikipediaにもあるように

Bleu eventually left (or possibly was dropped from) Aware Records after a public dispute about the direction of submitted demos, and his third studio album, tentatively titled 'A Watched Pot,' was not released by the label. However, Bleu announced in an email list announcement in August 2008 that he had regained the rights to "A Watched Pot" and plans to release the album in some form, possibly as a double-disc release.

以前の所属レーベルから権利を取り戻すまでの間、リリースができないでいたようだ。MySpaceや自身のSNSでも

...with a little (well, a lot of) persistence, he finally acquired the rights to material that Bleu describes as being at his creative heart and soul. Bleu says “these songs are my emotional progeny. I think they represent an honest record of the fears and heartache, as well as the hope and fantasies that encircled me during that chaotic time in my life.”

なんて書いていて、このアルバムをリリースするまでに並々ならぬ努力をつぎ込んだみたい。

そんな彼の"emotional progeny"を是非とも聞いてみてね、という宣伝でした。相変わらず、ミドルテンポの楽曲が泣かせてくれる。
