MP3音楽配信の波、欧州にも広まる：Warner、7digitalとMP3配信でサイン

Warner Music has signed a deal with digital media site 7digital.com to provide its catalogue in the MP3 format, which can be played on nearly all music devices.

Warnerが英国、アイルランド、スペイン、フランス、ドイツで展開している音楽配信サイト7digital.comとMP3配信の契約を結んだ模様。WarnerがDRMフリーでの配信を行うのは、欧州では初めてのことだそうだ。7digitalは、同様にEMIにも交渉を持ちかけているようで、他のレーベルとのMP3配信提携を結ぶことを模索しているとのこと。AmazonのMP3ストアも米国外での展開を計画しており、こうした流れは更に加速することは間違いないだろう。
